COVECOM has developed over the last 20 years environmental proprietary engineering solutions for asbestos disposal, contaminated sites, noise-vibration control and photovoltaic energy production. We offer a full range of services and a turn-key approach to each project including analysis, design and site management.
COVECOM's multi-disciplined teams are normally involved on new projects since the preliminary stages. Our proposals include process evaluation analysis of alternative products and practices to determine sustainable solutions for clean up and contaminants management.
Typical phases of this work :
- Confinement of polluted or potentially polluted sites;
- Design and specifications for the Environmental Authority in accordance with local applicable codes and practice;
- Preliminary Investigation and site testing (soil cores, testing of samples);
- Piezometric well testing;
- Surface and Deep Soil and water analysis;
- Cross-referencing and mapping of Geo data on main data bank with actual lab analysis results;
- Management and consulting for the investigation phase;
- Feasibility study and presentation to the local Authorities;
- Preliminary design, cost and risk analysis comparing the most advanced technologies.
COVECOM site work is carried on using both traditional and advanced low impact technologies such as:
- Air sparging;
- Soil venting;
- Soil Vapour Extraction;
- Land farming;
- Biopile.
Research and Development: COVECOM leads joint ventures for research and development of new technologies for reclamation of large contaminated sites involving:
- Thermal deabsorption;
- Soil washing;
- Solvent extraction.
Clean up is followed by commissioning with testing and certification to ensure that normal activities can be carried in total safety.
Our technicians will help in the choice of clean up and contaminants disposal systems.
Clean up can be achieved with both on and off site treatment systems. In this second case contaminated soil is moved to a treatment plant.
ASBESTOS CLEAN UP
Clean up of asbestos containing materials such as sprayed on plaster and pipe insulation (soft matrix) or concrete asbestos roof slabs and vinyl asbestos tiles (hard matrix).
COVECOM teams inform and advise the client on the most effective clean up system and ensure complete restoration of safe environmental conditions.
Environmental Noise and Vibration
Environmental acoustics includes the measurement and analysis of noise and vibration in the environment, to enable mediation and mitigation of all types of environmental noise sources, ranging from transportation and industrial sources to outdoor entertainment facilities. Since 1996 COVECOM has been involved in noise and vibration control
- Noise monitoring
- Noise barrier design
- Site suitability studies
- Environmental Impact Analysis
- Applications for site plan approval
Noise barrier construction and installation: COVECOM produces and installs most types of noise barriers using:
- Concrete and wood panels;
- Pine wood treated panels;
- Fire retardant Hard wood panels;
- Aluminium panels;
- Steel panels;
- PMMA panels with wood or metal frame;
- Pultruded and composite material panels.
PHOTOVOLTAIC AND RENEWABLE ENERGY INSTALLATIONS

Photovoltaic installation includes all wiring connections and switching with the local power distribution system. COVECOM in ANCENERGIA consortium member. The consortium was established in 2007 between Italian main building companies to further best renewable energy technologies COVECOM will also provide with feasibility study, design, performance analysis and applications for public funding and financing.
Photovoltaic Roof Energy Saving System.
COVECOM is leader in roof photovoltaic systems installation. Asbestos roof clean up and Photovoltaic system installation can be jointly performed in a single cost effective operation.
This additional investment outperforms most other energy saving systems and can provide power in remote areas.
